Financial Preparation for the Last Days

Here are seven steps you should take to be ready for the final crisis ahead:

1. Stay focussed on the fact that we are living in the end times

If you knew you only had a few days to live what would you do? Would you spend, spend, spend or give, give, give. Your answer to this question will show you where your heart is. The bible tells us in Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

But as Christians preparing for the coming of Jesus, should it take the end of our lives or the end of this world to give to the cause of God? Isn’t it enough that our mansions and treasures are in heaven awaiting those who have not made this world our home? As we approach the coming crisis and the time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation, let us stay focussed on heaven before Satan snatches from our hands the wealth that God bestowed upon us for His glory. If we don’t, it will in the time of trouble bare down on us like a crushing weight.

The principle of worldlings is to get, get, and thus they expect to secure happiness; but, carried out in all its bearings, the fruit is misery and death. (CS 14:2)

2. Invest in heavenly causes

So what can we do to invest in heavenly causes? We can we help in the financing of evangelism at home and abroad to enlighten the many that are in darkness because they have never heard the truth.

In commissioning His disciples to go “into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature,” Christ assigned to men the work of extending the knowledge of His grace. But while some go forth to preach, He calls upon others to answer His claims upon them for offerings, with which to support His cause in the earth. He has placed means in the hands of men, that His divine gifts may flow through human channels in doing the work appointed us in saving our fellow men. This is one of God's ways of exalting man. It is just the work that man needs; for it will stir the deepest sympathies of his heart, and call into exercise the highest capabilities of the mind. (CS15:1)

3. Get out of debt and stay out of debt

“When one voluntarily becomes involved in debt, he is entangling himself in one of Satan’s nets which he sets for souls. Be determined never to incur another debt. Deny yourself a thousand things rather than run into debt. Make a solemn covenant with God that by His blessing you will pay off your debts and then owe no man anything even if you must live on porridge and bread.”

If you find yourself walled in with debt we are counselled to work them off as fast as possible and then owe no man anything. In the coming crisis property will be taken from those who have not worked off their mortgage. It will therefore be better to live in a small property that is fully yours than a large property that will eventually be taken from you because you failed to pay back all you owed. If there was ever a time we need to live within our means it is now. It is a truism that “the borrower is slave to the lender” and God wants us to be free from all bondage in this life. Step out in faith, lay your plans before the Lord and allow him to lead you by green pastures for His name’s sake.

4. Buy property in the countryside

Educate our people to get out of the cities into the country, where they can obtain a small piece of land and make a home for themselves and their children. We should seek security in home ownership away from the cities.

It should be no surprise then, that God’s messenger to the Remnant Church urged God’s people to buy or live on land in a rural place where they can be free to grow their own vegetables and fruits so that they can live in the time of trouble and worship God according to His law? If they do this, they will be able to live much freer, for a much longer period of time than people living in the cities.

5. Become independent in lines of work

There will come a time when food will be used as a weapon to coerce people to take the mark of the beast. Just as in the ‘Mark of the beast dry run’ vaccines are being used as a way to force individuals to take the jab or lose their jobs and livelihood, so prophecy has made it clear that in the future the inability to buy and sell will force the unsuspecting to take the mark of the beast in order to survive.

Obedient students of prophecy should be making preparations now to become self-sufficient in lines of work and in growing their own food so that with God’s help they can stand when that time comes. The pressure will be worse for those still living in the cities compared to those who have already moved out into the country. Very soon history will be repeated and those who choose not to go along with the popular narrative will be persecuted.

6. Become independent of the system

To become independent of the system is actually pretty hard and it takes some intentional thinking and planning. This should be happening now in your life. Don’t just keep going on expecting everything to fall in place when the time comes because it won’t.

Prepare to lose your job if you are not self-employed. It may not happen, but in case it does you should have some mechanism to earn money on your own and not be dependent on a traditional job. We are seeing this happen with regard to the vaccine in some sectors and countries around the world. Until recently many employed in the UK’s National Health Service were at risk of losing their jobs if they refused the mandated vaccines. Fortunately God stepped in and through public pressure the government made a U-turn but we know when pressure is brought to bear under the coming mark of the beast there will be no U-turns.

There are other forms of dependency and control. Welfare checks, social security checks, state pensions and housing benefits will all be cut off one day; and probably soon. So, you better prepare for that too! I’m not saying you have to get off these things now, but you should have a plan for when the time comes.

7. Be willing to share with others

In Acts 2:44 and 46 we are told how the believers were such a closely-knit group that they even shared their possessions with one another... including their food and invited others to their homes.

This sharing of common goods was a voluntary outgrowth of their love for each other in the fellowship they experienced. The mutual support continued for some time and, for those who are preparing to meet the Lord, it will continue until the end as we seek to care for one another in the Spirit of Christ our example.

When we are faithful to God he will help us prepare for every trial and difficulty ahead. The pandemic is the start but we know Satan working through man will bring about by other emergencies like rising inflation, increasing energy prices, climate change lockdowns, cyber-attacks and other events that will threaten our livelihood.

If you haven’t made a start on your financial preparedness for the coming crisis I urge you to start now without delay! Pray and ask God to guide you. Lay everything you have on the altar before Him and He will direct your paths.
