Praying Ahead For our Children, Young People & Relationships
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses. Isaiah 44:3-4
And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Isaiah 54:13-14
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: Psalm 144:12
As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. Daniel 1:17,20
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8
LORD I present all past, present and future relationships of our children and young people before you asking you to order their steps and direct their paths. In the name of Jesus Christ please forgive them of all sins in word, thought and deed that would separate them from you.
Father I am standing in the gap for them and making up the hedge for them until they come to their senses and accept Christ as Lord and Saviour for themselves. Lord I plead the blood of the lamb over them from head to toe, asking you to forgive them of secret, open and unknown sins and the very appearance of evil. I ask that you anoint them with the Holy Spirit.
Lord forgive them for their disobedience, rebellion, enmity, unforgiveness and unbelief. Forgive them for breaking your commandments and dishonouring their parents.
Send your angels that excel in strength to guard and guide; to keep them in all their ways; to prevent them from stubbing even their toes against a stone; to go ahead of them to bring them to the place that you have prepared for their salvation.
Place a hedge of protection and a wall of fire around them at all times. Surround them with your glory. Send goodness and mercy to follow them always. Father give them wisdom, discernment and self control in these relationships. I decree and declare that they are the head and not the tail; they are from above and not below.
I pray they will be wise and companions of the wise. They will trust in the Lord and seek his wisdom in every detail of their life, not leaning on their own understanding, the trends and fashions of the world, the flesh, the devil or friends.
Father may they acknowledge you in all their ways so that you will direct their paths to righteousness, success, favour and good reputation. Father I sever all ungodly soul ties, expose satan's lies, traps and deceptions. Remove evil friends from their lives, turn their counsel to foolishness. Place godly friends in their lives. Father give them sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Give them discernment to recognise the enemies snares, lies and deceptions. Give them self control to overcome temptation.
I ask that you thrust out the enemy from before them and give the command for his destruction. I command the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life to be destroyed in their life in the name of Jesus Christ.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Yeshua the Messiah, I loose enmity into their lives towards all ungodliness in and around them and within their hearts and minds. Give them a perfect hatred for satan and his work and a perfect love for God, righteousness and holiness.
Father favour them with contentment, healthy self esteem, body confidence, common sense, self awareness and excellent mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.
May they recognise that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. May they abhor every activity, substance, word, thought, deed and relationship that would contaminate and corrupt themselves mentally, physically and spiritually and separate them from you.
Always give them the discernment and strength of character to recognise unhealthy friendships and peer pressure to do the things that are wrong. Give them the confidence and self control to say no and avoid/end such relationships.
I pray they will neither be victims nor perpetrators of evil, sexually immoral, unhealthy, destructive, controlling, violent, abusive or manipulative relationships. Help them to be content with what they have and free from jealousy, envy, greed, vanity, covetousness or the love of money.
May they be well balanced, calm, happy and sociable, having a positive influence on others around them. May grace and peace always abound in their lives, throughout their lives. May they be recognised for the good things they do and become positive examples in their sphere of influence, laying up heavenly treasure.
May they stand out for the right reasons: moral excellence, integrity, godliness, wisdom, the fruit of the spirit. Grant them favour throughout their lives with godly, edifying, stable, supportive, honest, healthy, warm, loving life-affirming, fun, reciprocal friendships and close relationships. May they eventually make their decision for Christ and be equally yoked with believers who are hand picked by God.
May they be mighty soldiers of God, zealous, faithful and committed to the cause of righteousness, walk before God all their lives, that they will leave an example of godliness excellence and favour as an inheritance to the next generation, AMEN.
